| Powerful, fast, desirable, beautiful: those were the words that guided Al Melling and Chris Stallard as they set out to shape the Melling Wildcat’s all-composite body from scratch. The car has a classical long bonnet with sculpted, aerodynamic lines shaped fundamentally by the way air flows over the car at speed. The modern proportions of the Wildcat – its width, its cowl height, its high cabin sills and prominent wheel arches – allowed the designers the indulgence of an evocative egg-crate radiator grille, reminiscent the greatest Mille Miglia cars half a century ago. “The Wildcat is all-new”, says Al Melling, “And when you drive it you’ll discover just how new. It’s all our own design, but I see nothing wrong with using proportions or details that maintain visual links and emotional connections with history’s greatest sports cars. After all, they taught us how great driving can be.” |

Al says: There'll never be such a thing as a slow Wildcat. Even in basic spec it's designed to be faster than most Ferraris. Easier to drive, too, because of the torque. This car will climb a cliff-face. Want more performance? My advice would be to fit one of the tuning kits we're working on. |

| Engine |
The current factory cars are fitted with the Melling V8. Al Melling's iconic AJP8 engine, as used in the TVR Cerbera, has been redeveloped and brought up to today’s modern emission standards and re-launched as the 440 bhp Melling V8. This updated engine is now the driving heart of the Melling Wildcat. This engine is a major improvement on an already successful platform, retaining its unrivalled power, performance and durability. |
